Pensacola Mountain Bike Tour Details

Advanced Singletrack Tour

This tour can be of varying lengths depending on how long you want to ride, there are up to 12+ miles in the system. A normal rider, no matter the distance covered, is usually ready to be finished after about 2 hours if not sooner. These trails are about 45 minutes from the main Pensacola Beach area. Far from the tourist side of Florida. Reminiscent of my rides in the hill country of Texas these trails are different from typical Florida trails. You will encounter rocky trails exposed to the weather, trails tucked deep under an oak and magnolia canopy, even winding routes through fern grottos. There are several fun man-made features to tackle throughout the system. Be ready for a workout, especially if the sun is out.

In the warmer months we recommend starting as early as you can do, as the heat gets intense quickly in the Florida sun. Much of the ride you will be exposed to the sun, so sunscreen is a must. This can be either a private guided tour or a DIY tour. When renting bikes, you can pick them up from our headquaters or we can deliver them to the trailhead and pick them up when you are finished. This is not one of my tour destinations but it is close by and an excellent place for paved trail biking with a backcountry feel so I decided I would put it out there for locals and visitors alike. These trails wind through swamps with alligators, through fields of...

What bike do I ride?

A question I get a lot is "what kind of bike do you ride?". On the Fatbike tours I normally ride one of the Motobecane FB4s exactly like the client bikes. But while a fatbike, with 4"+ tires, is great for sandy trails, they're not as fast or nimble as a traditional...
